Here's how to get started!
All chair positions are open to Sunrise parents/families, staff, teachers, or community members.
The Sunrise PTA is looking for volunteers who would like to coordinate one or more of the activities listed below. You won't be on your own. The executive committee will provide you with materials and support.
Nominating committee - No VIPs requirement
PTA members needed - Three
Description: Search for next year's executive board members through friends, PTA members, staff, and other parents. Current executives will support the search.
Time Requirement: 4-10 hours over 3-4 months Connect via email, over the phone, or in-person with possible nominees. Hold one to two meetings of the nominating committee and present nominations for general vote at the PTA general meeting in May
Carnival Committee - No VIPs requirement
Positions - One Lead Chair and Two Co-chairs
Description: Organize the vendors and games. Coordinate volunteers for set-up, the day of, and tear-down. The PTA will provide vendor and game information from previous carnivals. The carnival will be in June. Delegation is essential.
Time Requirement: This depends on how the committee is structured. It should meet a couple times, and one or more committee members will need to present an update at PTA meetings.
Textile Drive - No VIPs requirement
Positions: One or Two Chairpersons
Description: Schedule a drop-off date with Saver's Inc. for collected textiles. Promote community drop-off days. Coordinate transportation to Saver's Inc. To learn more about how this was run, you will be connected with the previous chairperson.
Time Requirement: Get creative with this fundraiser! Scalable to fit your time and talents. Pre-event advertising, one collection day and one drop-off day are the minimum time commitments.
